Parish Clerk/Responsible Finance Officer
Aslockton Parish Council requires a part-time Parish Clerk/Responsible Financial Officer. You will be working with a team of local councillors for the benefit of the residents of Aslockton. This varied post will suit someone interested in the local community and local government. You will have good communication, administrative and numeracy skills and will be able to use computer spreadsheets, email and office software. If not already CiLCA qualified you will be required to undertake relevant training.
Duties will include:-
- Arranging and attending monthly parish council meetings (minimum of 12 per year) and preparing agendas and minutes
- Providing information to enable the council to make informed decisions
- Implementing the council’s decisions
- Providing legal, procedural and administrative guidance to the council
- Managing council finances and completing the Annual Return
- Receiving and dealing with council correspondence and documents
- Liaising with councillors, external bodies and the public
- Preparing council policies and procedures
- Circulating reports on the activities of the council
- Managing all the council’s property and arrange for adequate maintenance.
- To administrate the council’s allotments and collect the annual rents in a timely manner.
- Securely store the councils current documents.
You will be working from home. The post is contracted for 7 hours per week.
Your pay will be within LC1 of the National Joint Council for Local Government Services pay scale. The pay will start at SCP 14 equivalent to £12.00 per hour.
The Certificate in Local Council Administration (CiLCA) is desirable, however individuals who are willing to work towards this qualification will be considered.
